The First Generation Student Scholarship aims to support first generation college students who are passionate about making a difference in global health, providing them with resources to pursue their goals. The selection committee evaluates various factors, prioritizing candidates who demonstrate a commitment to their communities and a genuine interest in global health. Preference may be given to applicants demonstrating financial need and those who have had limited opportunities to engage in global health education programs. 

Eligibility

To be eligible for the First Generation Student Scholarship, applicants must be first-generation college students and intend to participate in a CFHI place-based program in Tarija, Dehli, Quito, Guayaquil, Kabale, Mukono, Durban or  Dehli for a minimum of 4 weeks.

 The total program cost of a 4-week CFHI place-based program Tarija, Dehli, Quito, Guayaquil, Kabale, Mukono, or Durban, up to $2,975, with the specific amount varying based on the program fee specific to each country.
