Title: Outreach Coordinator

Status: Full time, exempt

Reports to: Managing Director

 

Position Description:

CFHI seeks a communications professional with excellent writing and digital marketing skills to coordinate our outreach efforts and initiatives. The Outreach Coordinator plays a central role within our team and is responsible for presenting CFHI’s global health education programs in a way that is attractive to students and young professionals (40+ programs in 12 countries), and universities/professional organizations and for ensuring visibility for the organization’s advocacy/educational efforts through marketing, communication, and external relations. The Outreach Coordinator actively collaborates with the CFHI staff, alumni, and volunteers to create, achieve, and monitor CFHI’s outreach and recruitment/enrollment goals.

 

This role is perfect for a versatile marketing communications professional with strong skills in social media and other digital communications with 2-3 years of experience, preferably with study abroad, nonprofit organizations and/or global health background. The ideal candidate will be comfortable learning existing systems and offering strong execution of existing outreach projects and deliverables, while also taking initiative with new projects. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary for this role, as are digital marketing skills (Google ads, social media, etc.)

 

Job Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and oversee CFHI’s outreach, marketing and externally-facing communications across audiences (undergraduate through post-graduate students, universities, student organizations, faculty, and professional organizations) and channels (social media, e-newsletters and blasts, press releases, blogs)

    • Oversee all advertising and cross-promotional contracts including Google ads grant

    • Carry out CFHI’s outreach-related goals from an organizational strategic plan

    • Meet or exceed predetermined goals for program enrollment through outreach, marketing, and communications initiatives

    • Coordinate in-person representation at key events, fairs, and conferences

    • Coordinate editing, design, printing, and consistent brand messaging of program collateral, including the annual report, direct mail pieces, website, blog, social media sites, and electronic newsletters, and others

    • Within budget, oversee improvements in CFHI website and web presence to ensure optimal accessibility and engagement across multiple platforms and devices 

    • Document, track and highlight CFHI press pieces, publications, online news, etc.

    • Ensure outreach-related web pages are maintained and kept up-to-date

    • Oversee accuracy and expansion of CFHI information and presence on third-party review websites, and optimize ratings

    • Using Google analytics and other tools and key indicators, regularly review ROI on outreach investments and  make data-driven recommendations and adjustments to optimize engagement and program enrollment

    • Meet regularly with CFHI Programs Team to coordinate the promotion of programs

    • Coordinate and monitor outreach budget 

    • Serve as liaison between CFHI and appropriate vendors related to outreach projects, e.g. graphic designer, press release software, online marketing services, etc.

    • Manage and supervise volunteers, interns and pro-bono assistance for outreach projects 

Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in digital marketing/communications, journalism, or similar

    • 2-3 years of relevant experience

    • Great attitude and positive energy

    • Able to work both collaboratively and independently 

    • Outcomes/deliverables oriented, able to develop strong processes to achieve goals

    • Experience in search engine optimization (SEO)

    • Demonstrated success in social media marketing and management including scheduling social posts and executing paid sponsorship campaigns

    • Comfortable working in a small organization where everyone “wears many hats”

    • Familiarity with international education, global health, and/or global engagement a plus

    • Excellent office software skills including Word, ExcelL, PowerPoint

    • Google Ads experience is a plus

    • Graphic design experience or familiarity with graphic tools is a plus 

    • Availability to travel domestically on a limited basis

    • Excellent time management, planning and organizational skills, attentive to detail

    • Comfortable handling multiple competing priorities and tasks

    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
