Emily is a doctor in her second year of the Academic Foundation Programme (second year post-graduation from medical school) based in Bristol, UK. Her interests focus on Primary Care, Paediatrics, Infectious Diseases and Global Health and she is passionate about overseas medicine, both global health and expedition medicine, as well as research and evidence-based medicine. Emily completed her undergraduate biochemistry degree at Cambridge University and then studied medicine at Oxford University. During medical school Emily was involved in the university Global Health Society and spent her 10 week medical elective in 2014 working with the International Porter Protection Group at a remote rescue post in Nepal. In 2015, Emily joined a medical team working in Uganda to provide medical cover for the first ever charity Ugandan International Marathon, as well as working at the Sango Bay refugee camp. In 2010, Emily spent two months India with CFHI before starting medical school and had a fantastic experience. She believes in the importance of global health and in particular the delivery of global health programmes in an ethical manner – as a result, she is keen to help develop CFHI within Europe.
