At CFHI, we believe that the next generation of global health leaders will come from diverse backgrounds and communities. Financial barriers should not prevent passionate, dedicated students from gaining the real-world experience needed to make a difference. The Emerging Global Health Leader Virtual Scholarship is designed to support students who are committed to advancing health equity and serving marginalized communities.

This scholarship provides critical funding to help you access ethical, community-centered programs and gain the skills you need to become a leader in your field.

This scholarship is for students who:

  • Are actively involved in their local communities.
  • Seek an authentic, transformative learning experience.
  • Are ready to take the next step in their journey toward becoming a leader.

What the Scholarship Provides

The Emerging Global Health Leader Scholarship helps cover the costs of a CFHI program fees. Our programs offer the opportunity to:

  • Learn from Local Leaders: Engage directly with our Global Teams and community experts who are at the forefront of health solutions.
  • Gain Real-World Experience: Apply classroom knowledge in a dynamic, cross-cultural setting.
  • Build Cultural Humility: Develop the self-awareness and empathy needed to work effectively in a diverse world.
Eligibility

Any current student enrolled in an undergraduate, post-bacc, graduate or post-graduate program. Applicants must show a demonstrated commitment to global health, especially through advocacy, political activism, capacity building, and conscious consumerism. Applicants must be participating in a CFHI VIRTUAL program in 2025 that is at least 4 weeks in duration.

Award Details

$975 full scholarship towards one of CFHI’s 4-week virtual internships or virtual practicum.

Deadline

Scholarships are reviewed on a rolling basis and awards are announced three times per year — in November, March, and June.
