UC Davis Quarter Abroad Latinx Health Internship in Oaxaca Scholarship
CFHI partners with University of California, Davis Quarter Abroad to offer this specialized program, giving students the opportunity to take UC Davis classes on transnational (US-Mexico) health issues and participate in approximately 180 hours of clinical rotations through internships in hospitals and clinics in Oaxaca, Mexico. Eligibility: Any prospective student who intends to participate in the UC Davis Quarter Abroad Latinx Health Internship Program in Oaxaca, Mexico in Fall 2023. Applicants must be in good standing and have a GPA of 2.0 or above.
Additional selection criteria: Our selection committee takes many factors into consideration when choosing scholarship candidates. Scholarships are awarded to those who demonstrate a commitment to their communities and a genuine interest in global health. Preference may be given to:

Applicants of ethnicities underrepresented in CFHI programs

Applicants who demonstrate financial need

Applicants who have had limited opportunity to travel abroad
How to apply: Applicants will be asked to email CFHI the following:
Award Details: $1,000 toward the UC Davis Quarter Abroad program fee.
Deliverables: Awardee will be asked to complete and deliver to CFHI a blog or video during the program and attend a pre-departure orientation session for the 2023 UC Davis Study Abroad Health Internship program.
