Created through a collaboration between Stanford and Johns Hopkins University, Ethical Challenges in Short-Term Global Health Training is a series of ten cases to introduce trainees and others involved in global health research and service to ethical issues that may arise during short-term training experiences abroad. Each case is adapted from an actual scenario and has a quiz to assess learning. This is a great resource for participants engaging in STEGH programs for various reasons. It allows participants to get a hypothetical sense of what ethical situations may arise and different strategies they can take to address them. Additionally, another objective of this resource deals with an introspective aspect the participant can work through – they can report anticipated and actual changes in their behavior during their training program abroad.
