For 30+ years Samaan has held numerous international education positions in higher education. For the past decade, she served as the Senior Director of visiting student programs at the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). In that capacity, she founded a global network of medical schools, teaching hospitals, and NGOs, today in over 40 nations, facilitating international mobility for medical and public health students across a wide spectrum of electives. She earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa with a focus on international education and an M.A. in International Studies from Ohio University. Her passion and commitment to developing global mindsets is a driving force in personal and professional endeavors.
