LMIC Leaders in Global Health Scholarship
This scholarship is for professional development in global health through CFHI's Virtual Global & Public Health Internships and Virtual Practica. It is open to student trainees and health professionals from a LMIC or country in the Global South seeking Global Health Education opportunities, South-South and intraregional engagement, and perspectives of our US-based programming.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the LMIC Leaders in Global Health Scholarship, applicants must ensure the following:
- Citizenship of and current residency in a country considered the Global South and recognized by the World Health Organization and World Bank as a Low or Lower-Middle Income Country (LMIC). Learn more about this classification and check LMIC status here.
- Acceptance in a 4-week CFHI Virtual Global & Public Health Internship or CFHI Virtual Global Health Practicum program taking place in 2024.
Additional selection Criteria: Our selection committee takes many factors into consideration when choosing scholarship candidates. Scholarships are awarded to those who demonstrate a commitment to their communities and a genuine interest in global health. Preference may be given to:

Applicants of ethnicities underrepresented in CFHI programs

Applicants who demonstrate financial need

Applicants who have had limited opportunity to travel internationally
How to apply: Applicants will be asked to upload the following:
- Scholarship Essay
- Letter of Recommendation (professional or academic)
- Personal CV (Curriculum Vitae)
Award Details: One student will be selected to receive a $975 award that will go toward the program fee of a 4-week CFHI Virtual Global Health Education Program taking place in 2024.
