Explore the intersection of traditional healing and modern medicine in the foothills of the Himalayas.
Ayurveda, India’s ancient system of medicine, emphasizes the interconnectedness of body, mind, and spirit. It remains deeply woven into the country’s healthcare landscape, practiced in both rural clinics and modern integrative hospitals. Alongside Ayurveda’s ancient holistic framework, Homeopathy is also widely practiced system, offering a personalized approach to healing that resonates especially in rural and underserved communities.
This rotation allows participants to experience India’s pluralistic healthcare landscape—where public health, rural medicine, and integrative healing systems converge. The program begins with a foundational week in Delhi, exploring public health initiatives in one of the world’s largest and most complex cities. The remaining weeks take place in Dehradun and surrounding rural communities in the Himalayan foothills, where trainees rotate through a variety of clinical and community-based sites, including a hospital in Mussoorie, a rural primary care clinic in the village of Patti, and a modern multispecialty hospital in Dehradun.
This rotation offers a deep understanding of India’s pluralistic healthcare system, blending allopathy, Ayurveda, and homeopathy, while highlighting how community-based care bridges gaps in access and equity.
