Child Family Health International has been expanding the knowledge and skills of Global Health trainees and young professionals for nearly 35 years. In alignment with our commitment to delivering exceptional global health programs, we are excited to present the Friends of the Philippines Scholarship Fund. 

This scholarship is made possible by a generous gift from a CFHI alumna. It supports learners with a connection to the Philippines in accessing CFHI’s long-standing, dynamic Global Health in the Philippines program

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive the Friends of the Philippines Scholarship Fund, applicants must: 

  1. Have a connection to the Philippines, either through heritage, community, studies, academic research, etc. Qualified applicants from all countries are welcome to apply.
  2. Demonstrate a financial need
  3. Exhibit a lifelong commitment to global health education, training, and/or service
  4. Plan to participate in a 2-week or 4-week CFHI program during 2025.

Requirements

Funds are reserved for applicants both from the Philippines and from outside the Philippines. Applicants should upload the following:

  • Scholarship Essay explaining your connection and commitment to the Philippines
  • Letter of Recommendation (professional or academic)
  • Documents demonstrating financial need (e.g., evidence of a Pell Grant or other need-based scholarship or loan; EFC score from a FAFSA application, financial aid records; Medicaid enrollment; or a written explanation of the need.)

Award Details

Scholarship award covers the CFHI program fee for a 2-week or 4-week CFHI program taking place in 2025. The award covers program fee tuition plus a stipend to offset or cover flight/travel expenses, in-country out-of-pocket costs, and other travel-related expenses. Scholarship Recipients agree to provide photos, videos and/or blogs, testimonials/feedback about their program experience and remain engaged as CFHI alumni.
