Virtual Opportunities

In response to the impact that COVID-19 is having on global travel, CFHI has launched new virtual opportunities! As a United Nations-recognized, award-winning leader in global health education, CFHI offers a variety of virtual global health programs and opportunities for students and universities, with new offerings launching regularly. In collaboration with our global partners in 12 countries, we offer webinars, virtual internships, practica, online courses, and much more. All programs are grounded in Fair-Trade Learning Principles and rooted in ethical, sustainable best practices.

> Virtual Internships

CFHI Virtual Global Health Internships offer undergraduate, pre-health, and graduate-level participants the unique opportunity to explore global and public health issues broadly, highlighting how health systems around the world deliver healthcare in a variety of diverse environments, exploring cultural interplays in urban and rural areas, and incorporating indigenous healing practices. Participants learn from CFHI's wide network of global health experts and leaders in 12 countries while engaging interactively with other learners and CFHI staff.

> Virtual Practicums

The CFHI Virtual Global Health Practicum is a structured, supervised, and evaluated professional experience for Master's level students to apply their relevant skills, knowledge, and values in a real-world setting. Participants are assigned real-world projects and receive mentorship from CFHI's global partners.

Virtual Global Health Electives

CFHI Virtual Global Health Electives offer students the unique opportunity to explore global and public health issues broadly, highlighting how health systems around the world deliver healthcare in a variety of diverse environments, examining cultural interplays, honing low resource decision making, and expanding self-awareness. Students will learn how communities are addressing their most pressing health challenges while gaining insights into the public health realities of the region, reverse innovation, and interplays of international development and health. In line with CFHI's commitment to making Global Health Education accessible for all, we now offer a substantial discount for participants joining from Low- & Middle-Income Countries, as well scholarships for students who are displaced and students in financial needs.

> Reasoning Without Resources

Join a collaboration between Child Family Health International (CFHI) and the Albert Einstein School of Medicine Global Health faculty to offer a case-based course on honing clinical reasoning skills in low resource settings.  Based on actual cases from over 20 years in rural Uganda, the faculty lead trainees through clinical reasoning approaches in live sessions.  CFHI compliments this curriculum with pre-work including the 7-part series, Pillars of Global Health, which includes modules of diversity, equity and health disparities, global burden of disease, cross cultural adaptability, and global health ethics.

> Free Global Health Webinars

Explore a variety of free global health webinars on timely topics, facilitated by CFHI's staff, global partners, and expert collaborators. Listen to a previous webinar recording of sign up for an upcoming session.

> Online Language Classes

CFHI is proud to feature a series of opportunities to learn Spanish online through CFHI's diverse partners. These classes and tutoring opportunities are offered directly through CFHI global partners and help to support the sustainability of their organizations and operations.

> Custom Virtual Opportunities for Academic Partners & Collaborators

As colleges and universities work to adapt global health education programming to new realities in the face of COVID-19, CFHI is a partner to help extend capacity and expertise for global health learning. Through custom global health internships, practicums, clinical seminars and lectures, and more, we are working closely with our existing and new academic partners to help support desired learning outcomes in no and low-travel contexts.
