Mania is a first year family medicine resident at John Peter Smith Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Fort Worth, Texas. She was born in Donetsk, Ukraine, and grew up in West Bloomfield, Michigan. She has always been interested in working with underserved populations, both locally and abroad. Her undergraduate education at Michigan State University first sparked her interest in global health and it really flourished during her time in medical school at Northwestern University. She was able to participate and collaborate with CFHI and medical student organization on two trips to Puerto Escondido, Mexico working on public health talks and midwife trainings. In addition, she has participated in global health through a year-long fellowship in which she worked on a project optimizing a data collection system in a small clinic in rural Guatemala. As the Board Chair Mania oversees the development and contributions of the AAB.
