Global health matters now more than ever. CFHI is seeking to raise $35,000 for two critical areas that alumni are uniquely poised to support:

  • Scholarships for trainees who require financial support to participate in CFHI programs. Your support can offset the negative impacts of federal cuts to loans and grants for US-based students and massive cuts to health and development-related funding for Low-and-Middle-Income-Country-based students.
  • Community health projects led by CFHI’s Global Team that support key health needs at our 23 community sites. Your support can offset the negative impacts of cuts to USAID and its partners.

"The lessons I learned during my CFHI program in Cape Town about humanism, contextualizing care, cultural integration, and systemic awareness will guide me in delivering empathetic, adaptable, and equitable care throughout my medical career."

Undergraduate student, Georgetown University.

Are you ready to invest in the next generation of global health leaders and sustain high-impact community health efforts?

What does your donation enable?

CFHI Emerging Global Health Leaders Scholarships

As part of our commitment to providing global health education education opportunities to ALL qualified candidates, CFHI provides scholarships to students who otherwise might not have access to global health education and careers.

Since 2000, over $1.1 million has been awarded to support student participation in our global health programs. Despite this impact, CFHI can meet less than 15% of scholarship requests.

CFHI prioritizes scholarships for:

 * Low-income students in the US who are disproportionately affected by federal cuts to loans and grants

 * Students from low-and-middle-income countries who face barriers to global health education programs and funding

If you would like to start a customized scholarship fund or donate more than $5,000 toward scholarships, please reach out to us at [email protected]. And check out our Friends of the Philippines Fund for inspiration, as it was started by a CFHI alum with close ties to the Philippines.

With your support, we can meet our scholarship goal of $20,000 to bridge funding gaps and foster a more inclusive global health community.

CFHI Community Health Grants

CFHI has long-standing relationships with 23 global sites across nine countries. CFHI offers Community Health Project Grants to many of these sites to help fund under-resourced initiatives, from scaling mobile clinics in Uganda, to expanding community-based mental health programs in the Philippines, to offering family planning and contraceptive care in Bolivia, among others. All projects are locally led and staffed.

In 2025, CFHI distributed $23,000 in Community Health Project Grant funds. Yet, we are able to meet less than 70% of the assistance requested from CFHI global site leaders.  With your support, we can raise our community health grants goal of $15,000 to offset the negative impacts of global health cuts and provide our Global Partners with critical funding that they need to lead transformative health efforts at the heart of their communities.
