Below you will find a brief video with instructions and useful information on how to apply to a CFHI program.  The basic information can also be found on this page below and in the "step-by step" application instructions link above. Application Deadlines

CFHI accepts applications on a continual, rolling basis year-round since our programs run each month of the year, usually departing the 1^st Saturday of the month. 

CFHI recommends applying 3 months prior to your desired arrival date if possible.  Applying early is encouraged in order to secure your spot in your top choice program and to give you more time to prepare for the program.  All applications received 45 days or less before any arrival date are considered last minute applications.  CFHI is able to process last minute applicants and make expedited arrangements for participants applying last-minute to programs.  Last minute applicants that are accepted are required to pay all program fees in full within 72 hours of acceptance.

Program Dates

CFHI programs run every month of the year and generally start the 1^st Saturday of the month.  The departure date of each 4-week program occurs on the Saturday four (4) weeks following the arrival date. For exact arrival dates click on your Program Description, then on the “Arrival Dates” bullet on the right side of the page.  All CFHI programs run on the same arrival and departure dates.  CFHI can usually arrange alternate arrival/departure dates so contact us if you'd like to participate during other dates.

Program Length

CFHI programs run on a 4-week structure. Participants can choose to attend for 5, 6, 7 or 8 weeks.  Other options include combining two or more 4-week programs for a comparative experience.

Eligibility
CFHI programs are open to participants 20 years of age or older at the time of participation.  CFHI programs are open to all with an interest in global health.  Coursework related to health or medicine and experience volunteering in a clinical setting is recommended.  Language eligibility varies for each program and is found after clicking on the specific Program Description.
