CFHI offers volunteer and internship opportunities working alongside our staff in San Francisco- a great opportunity to learn about all aspects of running an international nonprofit!  Visit Great Nonprofits to read what our volunteers and program alumni have to say about our work.     

For Interns, we require a time commitment of 20 hours per week for a minimum of 3 months. For volunteers we ask that you commit to a minimum of 4 hours per week for 3 months or more.  All positions are unpaid, though we do offer a small stipend for interns to help cover commuting costs.  CFHI encourages applicants from the San Francisco Bay Area as we require in-person interviews and do not cover re-location expenses.

Interns and volunteer responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

• Assist with administrative duties including data entry, mailing of student materials, and filing.
• Organize and update online photo galleries and social networking sites.
• Update and maintain accuracy of CFHI listing on external websites.
• Edit program materials for print and online publication.
• Assist with CFHI website updates. 
• Analyze statistics on demographics of program participants.
• Research and establish contacts with universities. 
• Contact local and national media outlets.
• Research and document CFHI related news articles and publications.
