The theme for the conference being held at the University of Tasmania is Small Steps, Big Picture. CFHI's Executive Director, Steve Schmidbauer, will be part of the Building Bridges Coalition attending the International Volunteering and Service Forum at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC on June 23rd.
The forum will frame international service as an integral component of “smart power” diplomacy and as a cost effective way to build cross-cultural bridges. Global Health Diplomacy is now a part of the wider efforts to develop Citizen Diplomacy on a greater scale. CFHI will be present to represent its many student volunteers and its global family of health professionals working at the grassroots level in underserved communities. |
